Huckleberries Online

Pardon my freak-out

Been a bit distracted today. My youngest son is making the transition from private elementary school to public middle school. But apparently there's been a bit of a snafu. The private school didn't return the public school's phone calls, so no records were exchanged and my son isn't registered ANYWHERE.

I think I finally got the 2 schools talking, but I'd really like my son to be able to take a walk through of his new school and at least figure out where things are and how to work the lockers and, oh yeah, where the bus will pick him up!

It's a kind of sensitive issue for me. I was a military brat and endured repeated school changes. I hated it.

I realize now, those experiences are the reason why I'm at ease in a variety of social situations. Still. I'd hoped to ease my son's transition.

Don't know if that's going to be possible.

Were you ever the "new kid"? How did/do you deal with school/job changes?
