Lynne: Truant But Not Caught

Scanner Traffic: 11:06 a.m. CPD officer is en route to Woodland Middle School with delinquent juvenile in tow.

Lynne: Made me chuckle. Do they still have truant officers? Was terrified of them when I was a kid. Never was an early riser, missed the school bus a lot and had to walk, making me late. Once that school bell rang, the “truant officer” was out in full force hunting down kids playing hooky. Always snuck down back roads and alleys to get to school so I didn’t have to suffer the humiliation of been delivered in “that” vehicle.

Question: Were you ever truant from school in your formative years?
