Christa: McHugh Avoided Conflict

Christa Hazel (re: Decision on county GOP CC proxy ballot involving Richard Mack vote): Barry McHugh is a good county prosecutor. He did what he was obligated to do by conflicting this issue to another county prosecutor that was not involved. Some posting here seem to have forgotten, Mr. McHugh actually voted on this issue at the KCRCC. Click here. McHugh was duty bound to conflict this out. Had he not done so, the county could have incurred more costs associated with this issue because the losing faction would have pointed out McHugh’s direct involvement. His actions underscore why this wasn’t politics or a question of courage and/or intelligence, IMO.

Question: Prosecutor Barry McHugh still represents Precinct 41 as committeeman. Is the county prosecutor wise to be serving in an elected position on the county Republican Central Committee?
