The following email was sent by City Clerk Susan Weathers to Councilman Dan Gookin and all those contacted by email in the 2.27 post below re: Gookin's future emails:

"I noticed the blog.  I have a few questions:  Who wrote your email to Wendy?  Do you truly feel it was a professional email? Did you ask her how the delayed communication to the Council occurred or did you just  assume she did it purposely?  Dan, I am not trying to create a rift between us, but sometimes we need to take responsibility for our own actions and, in this case, I think you jumped to a conclusion before you got all the information.  I am not trying to defending our Administrator, she has the strength of character to stand up for herself. I will give you some advice that I quickly learned when I first came to work at the City and that is don’t put in writing what you would not want published."
