Montana GOP Drops Anti-Gay Plank

The Montana Republican Party has ended its effort to make homosexual acts illegal. The state party made the decision during a convention last weekend. The issue had been part of the state GOP platform since the Montana Supreme Court struck down similar state laws in 1997. Bowen Greenwood, the state party’s executive director, said the decision was part of a larger effort to streamline the group’s 31-page platform. However, delegates at the convention made clear the state party still does not support gay marriage/Fox News, AP. More here.
