LDII: No TeeHee re: Obama T-shirt?

LastDemoInIdaho: As she was talking with a friend on the phone, Wife mentioned that she planned to wear her Obama T-shirt to Bingo at the Senior Center here in CDA. To celebrate a win. Her “friend”, who we know is a Republican from past comments, came on very strongly that wife should NOT wear the shirt. It would be rubbing salt in the wounds of the GOP people there. “This is a Republican state, and you might as well accept this, and back off.” Etc. Etc. Wife is sincere in her belief that she wants to wear this shirt to honor our President, and it is not an attempt to “rub it in” to the losing party. She was deeply hurt that a friend of several years came on so strongly, so negatively, over a relatively trivial act…wearing a shirt ! All in all a sad commentary on our politics. Are we wrong? Are we to cower in our home silent and afraid because we are Democrats living in a far-right, Republican-dominated state? (Photo: Cafe Press)

Question: Would you wear the Obama T-shirt, if you were in Mrs. LastDemoInIdaho's shoes?
