Mayor Gookin In 2013?

Coeur d'Alene City Councilman Dan Gookin did little to quell rumors that he will run for mayor in 2012 with two comments he made on an OpenCDA.com Thanksgiving thread:

  • Just got my Property Tax bill. Up 5% over last year. The City was up 4%, NIC up 6%. And my assessment is down over years past. Remember: I offered a motion to cut spending and leave the City’s property taxes at zero percent. I was voted down — November 27, 2012 @ 3:55 pm
  • With more help on the Council, I’d like to see great reductions in the City’s tax rate, which would help make CdA more attractive to businesses and, therefore, jobs. Think of the money we could save if we dissolved the LCDC! -- November 29, 2012 @ 8:55 pm

Question: Is Coeur d'Alene ready for Mayor Gookin?
