One suspect nabbed in beating death of WWII vet
Spokane Police have arrested one suspect in connection with the beating death of World War II veteran Delbert Belton, the department said Friday.
The juvenile male will face charges of first degree robbery and first degree murder, according to a release from the police department.
Belton was found outside the Eagles Lodge at 6410 N. Lidgerwood St. Wednesday night with head injuries. Police on Thursday released surveillance footage of two suspects, black males of average height and build dressed in all black who they said entered his car at random and beat him. Belton died of his injuries Thursday.
The suspect’s name is not being released because of his age. More information is expected later this morning.
