Jared Festner, of 935 Front Ave., has filed his candidacy papers to run for the Coeur d'Alene City Council seat now held by Councilman Mike Kennedy, who isn't seeking re-election. Festner joins Amy Evans, 717 B St., as a candidate for the seat. Eight people signed Festner's candidacy petition: Sarah & Travis Knoblich, Jeff Alicea, Kyle & Emily Neufeld, Carolyn Meyer, Amanda Tonasket and Amanda Festner. Ten people signed Evans petition: Chris Meyer, Sandi Bloem, Jeff Crowe, Kris & Kai Sharbono, Roger Snyder, Joe Morris, Cynthia & Tom Taggart, and Doug Evans.
