Crews continue to work at a feverish pace to finish as much of the project as possible this year. Work is expected to continue until mid-November, weather permitting, with a bulk of the project expected to be complete before the snow flies. Final landscaping will occur in the spring. You can see for yourself just how rapidly the park is progressing when officials open it up to the public from 2-6 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 12.
