ITD: I-90 Reopens Over Lookout Pass
Update: Interstate 90 has reopened in the area of the Idaho/Montana state line at 3 p.m. PST today (Tuesday, March 4), after being closed for avalanche danger from Mullan, Idaho, to St. Regis, Mont. The Idaho Transportation Department announced that this was the first closure for avalanche threat in this area of I-90 since Jan. 27, 2008.
The eastbound lanes of Interstate 90 at Lookout Pass will remain closed at least until Thursday due to avalanche danger, the Idaho Transportation Department said today. The pass closed Monday night from Mullan to St. Regis, Mont. The closure on the west side begins at Exit 69. Travelers are advised to use U.S. Highway 95 to state Highway 200 or U.S. Highway 2 as alternate routes. For the latest highway and weather conditions, call Idaho Traveler Services at 511.
