Bridge Crash Affects School Traffic

Following message was sent from Coeur d'Alene School District to parents: "Idaho State Patrol is handling a crash on the Spokane River Bridge on Highway 95, at the south city limits of Coeur d'Alene.  Both directions of travel are completely blocked.  This closure may last an additional 2-3 hours. Bus Routes 23, 24, 25 and 27 are impacted. We will pick up students who ride the bus and live South of the Spokane River Bridge from LCHS and Lakes Middle School at the regular end of school day time at 2:30 p.m. Those buses and students will go to Winton Elementary School and stay in a brief holding pattern until they can pick up the Elementary students at 3:30 pm. All students will be transported home after that but we do anticipate delays, (1 to 2 hours). If you are a parent or guardian who wishes to make other arrangements to pick up your child today, rather than having them ride the school bus home, please pick your High School or Middle School student up by 2:30 p.m. or your elementary student by 3:30 p.m. The students and schools impacted are LCHS, Lakes, Winton and some students from Fernan."
