Downtown CdA Traffic Change Friday

Artist's concept of the proposed Centennial Trail Plaza on Front Avenue, between Coeur d'Alene resort and resort mall.

Traffic flow in downtown Coeur d’Alene will soon be permanently altered as crews start construction of the Centennial Trail Plaza on Front Avenue between Second and Third streets near the Coeur d’Alene Resort. Starting as early as Friday morning, Front Avenue will be closed at Second Street. Access to the Resort at will not be detoured, though there will be traffic control at Sherman Avenue as motorists approach the Resort. The $1 million project is designed to improve pedestrian flow between City Park and McEuen Park, which means the permanent traffic closure of Front between Second and Third/Keith Erickson, Coeur d'Alene Today.
