On The Waterfront …

I strolled downtown again to check work on McEuen Field and encountered several workers surveying at the public parking area near the clock tower and elsewhere in the proposed Front Avenue pedestrian corridor. Also, I saw workers installing new sidewalks on the south side of the old Coeur d'Alene Mines building. The eastern end of McEuen Field (kids' playground, pickleball courts, outdoor basketball courts, splash pad & covered picnic area should be ready to go by the early May deadline. Easy. The dog park is open. The greatest amount of work left appears to be on the western end, closest to the Coeur d'Alene Resort. The new veterans Memorial Plaza will be located there, as well as waterfront amenities. The Harbor House and covered picnic area should be finished fairly soon, too. Much of the remainder of the area is grass and landscaping. Contractors Northwest has a good shot at completing the project by Memorial Day.
