BYU-Idaho Student Jailed For Cheating

A former Brigham Young University-Idaho student was sentenced to 180 days in Madison County Jail and five years of probation for altering his college transcript and qualifying himself for $7,000 in academic scholarships. Jacob Mahonri Espinal, 24, was sentenced Monday to 180 days in jail with 151 days of credit, Seventh Judicial District Judge Greg Moeller said. Espinal was found guilty of felony computer fraud and grand theft. He had an additional charge of computer fraud dismissed. Moeller said part of Espinal’s probation requires him to remain out of the United States and not come back throughout the duration of Espinal’s probation. If Espinal returns to the U.S. illegally, he would be detained for the remainder of his probation/Idaho Falls Post Register. More here.

Question: Did you ever cheat in school?
