Sims, McMillan, Vito Oppose Ed $$$

Rep. Shannon McMillan, R-Silverton, voted against six of the seven pieces of the public schools budget in the House on Monday, reports Bill Spence of the Lewiston Tribune, less than a week after they passed the Senate unanimously – and wouldn’t say why. McMillan, who represents Idaho, Clearwater, Shoshone and part of Bonner County, previously refused to explain her vote against the $125 million career ladder teacher pay plan, which is a central component of the school budgets, Spence reported. McMillan was joined by Reps. Vito Barbieri, R-Dalton Gardens, and Kathy Sims, R-Coeur d'Alene, in opposing the teacher salary appropriation bill, one of the pieces of the school budget. They were the only lawmakers in either the House or Senate to do so, Spence writes; you can read his full report here at his Political Theater blog/Betsy Russell, Eye on Boise. More here.

Question: Who do Barbieri, Sims & McMillan think they represent? Themselves? The Tea Party? Or are their districts as out of touch with the issues as they are?
