House Panel Disses Senate Bill

The House Transportation Committee has voted unanimously – 17-0 – to NOT concur in the Senate amendments to HB 312, the transportation funding bill. Asked if the House might request a conference committee, House Assistant Majority Leader Brent Crane, R-Nampa, said, “That’s a very real possibility, and I think a viable possibility. I want to keep all the options open.” He said, “We’ll get with Senate leadership and chart a path forward, and I’m confident we’ll be able to come up with something that both sides can agree on”/Betsy Russell, Eye on Boise. More here.

DFO: I can't see a down side to the spat between the Senate and the House over the transportation funding bill, other than it prevents the Legislature from adjourning. You don't want your average -- or below average -- North Idaho legislator sitting around with free time to cause mischief to his/her constituents. Thoughts?
