Arts Commission Gives Unanimous Thumbs Up To ‘Morris’ Statue

New artwork is coming soon to the North Idaho College campus. Among several entries submitted, the Coeur d’Alene Arts Commission unanimously selected “Chief Morris Antelope,” by local artist Cheryl Metcalf. Approval of the piece is contingent on City Council approval. All entries for the site were open to public comment in recent weeks and were displayed at the Coeur d’Alene Public Library, North Idaho College and Coeur d’Alene Tribe Reservation. The overwhelming favorite was “Chief Morris.” The city previously approved a $45,000 expenditure for the art, which will be located just west of Rosenberry Drive along the Centennial Trail near the wastewater treatment plant/Coeur d'Alene Press. More here.

Question: Any grumps out there who don't like this selection?
