Shooting: 14 dead, 1 in custody 15 

At least 14 people were killed and one or more suspects were in custody Wednesday when up to three gunmen on a "mission" barged into a holiday party in a California conference room and unleashed a bloodbath, law enforcement sources told NBC News. The gunman or gunmen fled in a black SUV after the shooting about at 11 a.m.

Storm damage estimates weeks away 

The first federal aid for damage for the Nov. 17 windstorm was approved this week for Washington, but even a rough estimate of the damage to the Spokane area may be weeks away. Local emergency management officials are compiling data from local residents and businesses, and utility crews continue to clean up downed lines.

Shooting Update: 14 dead, 14 wounded 93 

As many as three people opened fire at a center for people with developmental disabilities in San Bernardino, Calif., on Wednesday, killing at least 14 people and injuring 14 others in what the city’s police chief described as an act of domestic terrorism. The active shooting scene erupted at the Inland Regional Center.

2 drivers injured in Hayden crash 

Two female drivers were injured in a near head-on crash on Highway 95, near Lancaster Avenue/Hayden this morning. Rosealie Willis, 72, of Thompson Falls, Mont., was southbound on Highway 95 when she hit a patch of ice in her 2002 GMC Envoy and spun through the median into the drivers side of a northbound 1991 Geo Envoy.

Moscow man dies while restrained

A 46-year-old Moscow, Idaho, man died Tuesday at Gritman Medical Center after going into cardiopulmonary arrest while police officers and hospital staff held him down. Police took John Hukill to the hospital Tuesday afternoon after receiving three calls about a man acting strangely, the city of Moscow said in a news release.

Bonner Co: Stop refugee resettlement 21 

Bonner County commissioners are calling for the resettlement of refugees from Iraq and Syria to stop. The Bonner County Daily Bee reports that commissioners unanimously adopted a resolution Monday echoing Gov. C.L. "Butch" Otter's call for the immediate halt of resettling new refugees until vetting rules can be reviewed.
