A 22-year-old Hayden man was found dead early Sunday in downtown Coeur d'Alene. Coeur d'Alene police officers were called at 12:45 a.m. to investigate a suspicious vehicle. They discovered Richard E. Baumgartner in the vehicle parked in a lot near North Third Street and East Indiana Avenue. He was unresponsive with a gunshot wound to the head. Baumgartner was transported by medical personnel to Kootenai Health where he was later pronounced dead/Coeur d'Alene Press. More here.
