Hagadone suspends tower plan

Originally posted at 11:21 a.m. Saturday, Dec 19:

A planned 12-story addition to The Coeur d’Alene Resort has been indefinitely suspended. City officials and companies that worked on the project were notified Friday. According to Hagadone Hospitality officials, negative feedback from the city’s Design Review Commission on Thursday encouraged the company to hold off on the project. “We’ll move on and downtown will remain a vibrant, attractive place for locals and visitors alike,” said Duane B. Hagadone, CEO of the Hagadone Corp., which owns Hagadone Hospitality. Work on the project was expected to start next fall, with the new tower’s 158 guest rooms, eight suites and ground floor retail opening in May 2018/Coeur d'Alene Press.
