Design panel questions tower look 18 

A proposed new hotel wing at the Coeur d’Alene Resort would blend in better with the existing hotel and convention center if the flat roofline had more variation, members of the city’s design review commission said Thursday. “To me this is just a flat, flat box,” commission member Jef Lemmon said.

Poll: Tower poll compromised 

Some of you have noticed that the poll results re: 2nd resort tower design that I provided were different than the ones you saw last night and this morning. The poll this morning showed 70% approval with more than 900 voters. Hundreds of the votes were cast by someone who has figured a way to game this polling system.

Idaho 'Go On' numbers still dropping 

As Idaho continues to emphasize college attendance, here’s an interesting set of numbers. College attendance declined this fall in 37 states, including Idaho. Nationwide, college attendance dropped by 1.7 percent this year, according to National Student Clearinghouse Research Center statistics released Wednesday.

Editor fired for taking on NRA 12

With the onslaught of nasty weather on the horizon, Tom Paschane wants to remind folks that his gas station is going full service for the winter. This marks the third year that Paschane’s Honeysuckle Chevron in Hayden has hired Mike Trautvetter as an attendant to fill gas tanks for the season.
