Phil: 6 More Weeks Of Winter

Groundhog Club handler Ron Ploucha, left, holds Punxsutawney Phil, the weather prognosticating groundhog, during the 129th celebration of Groundhog Day on Gobbler's Knob in Punxsutawney, Pa., today. Phil's handlers said that the groundhog has forecast six more weeks of winter weather. Story here. (AP Photo/Gene J. Puskar)

DFO: Not to worry, my good buddy, Big Earl, was born today, on Groundhog's Day -- and he told me this AM by text that he didn't see his shadow when he headed out for work this morning. So that means we're OK here in the Inland Northwest. Spring is on the way. Big Earl, of course, heads for his job in Spokane before the sun comes up. So there's that.

Question: Do you pay attention to the Groundhog Day myth?
