Twin Falls: Otter’s Dealings Reek

Call it crony capitalism. Call it quid pro quo. Call it good ole’ corruption. Whatever you call it, the Idaho Education Network stinks. And the stench has finally turned the noses of federal investigators. For those living under a rock, a state-level judge late last year ruled Syringa Networks was systematically “carved out” of the state’s $60 million Idaho Education Network (IEN). And who benefited from the state Department of Administration’s contractual tinkering? That would be fellow contractors Education Networks of America and CenturyLink. And here’s an interesting little twist: The latter two providers for Idaho’s now-illegal school broadband network pumped thousands into the campaign coffers of Gov. C.L. “Butch” Otter and former Superintendent of Public Instruction Tom Luna/Opinion Editor Jon Alexander, Twin Falls Times News. More here.

Question: Are you finally starting to realize that Butch Otter's crony capitalism is costing Idaho millions of dollars?
