All For A Beef Jerky Stick

From Post Falls Police Department graveyard shift: AP (asset protection at Post Falls Super 1) called and advised they had a male detained for stealing a beef jerky stick. They advised the male paid for his beer but did not pay for the beef jerky. AP was able to escort the male inside the store when he became very combative and started to fight them. Officers arrived in the area and were able to get the male detained. The male advised he forgot to pay for the merchandise and the next thing he remembers is AP grabbing onto him and all he was doing was protecting himself. During the altercation the suspect male did injure the AP officer and eventually it took 3 employees to hold him down. Once Officer Sporleder arrived he was able to calm the male down.

Question: Is a beef jerky stick worth fighting for?
