Update On Bayview Remains

Kootenai County Sheriff’s Office Detectives have received further information on the human skeletal remains that were found by a hiker in the Bayview area on Feb. 4. The remains were transported to the Washington Medical Examiner’s Office in King County for help with possible identification. The King County Medical Examiner’s Office has expertise and board certifications in the field of Forensic Anthropology and Odontology. The Medical Examiner’s Office said that preliminary results reveal the human remains were from an adult Caucasian male, possibly between 30-50 years old. It also said it appears that the person has been deceased for less than two years/Kootenai County Sheriff's Department news release.
