Air Advisory Issued For Region

Panhandle Health District (PHD) and the Idaho Department of Environmental Quality (DEQ) have issued a Wildfire Smoke Advisory for Boundary, Bonner, Kootenai, Shoshone, and Benewah Counties. Wildfire smoke from several fires currently burning in Idaho, Washington, and Canada are impacting air quality.

Pageant Goes On Despite Owner Trump's Views 

Controversy continues to surround presidential candidate Donald Trump's comments painting Mexican immigrants as criminals, but the women taking part in the upcoming Miss USA pageant Trump co-owns say the show must go on. Fire Slows, Bayview Meeting Tonight 

KHQ reports that the Cape Horn Fire at Bayview had minimal growth over night and is still sitting at 2,000 acres burned. At this point, there is zero containment. There will be a community meeting in Bayview Tuesday night to discuss the progress made in fighting the Cape Horn Fire. The meeting will be at the Bayview Community Center.

Bill Cosby testified 10 years ago that he had obtained Quaaludes in the 1970s to give to young women with whom he wanted to have sex, according to a court document unsealed Monday. It was an acknowledgment, the first to become public and in Mr. Cosby’s own words, that he viewed powerful, sedating drugs as a part of his sexual encounters with women.

Lightning, Winds In Forecast

As if firefighters don’t have enough trouble trying to stop wildfires across the region, the National Weather Service warns of lightning storms and wind gusts this afternoon. A weak cold front is expected to move south out of Canada and cross into the mountainous tier of counties from the Cascades to Western Montana.
