CdA Widens Narrow Bike Trails 

As part of its commitment to providing the best possible citywide trail system for bicyclists, runners and walkers, the city this summer is widening narrow bike lanes. The city’s Bike-Ped Committee recently measured bike lanes across the city and determined which trails were too narrow to provide safe passage.

Idahoans Should Beware Of Planes 

A new CDC study highlights the causes of death most distinctive to each of the U.S. states between 2001 and 2010, The Inlander's blog reports. Not counting common causes -- heart disease, cancer, etc. -- Idahoans are more likely to die in a plane crash that residents of any other state except Alaska.

Firings Anger Prep Baseball Coaches 10 

Two highly successful North Idaho high school baseball coaches have been fired. Nick Rook of Coeur d’Alene and Tom Grunenfelder of Lewiston were dismissed in recent weeks. Rook’s dismissal became official Monday at a school board hearing. A CdA graduate, Rook took six of seven teams to state including a runner-up finish three years ago.
