The White House and U.S. Capitol both lowered flags to half staff by Tuesday afternoon, after they were out of sync Tuesday in their tributes to the five U.S. service members who were slain by a gunman in Chattanooga last week. Armed Men Guard Idaho Recruitment 65 

An armed group calling itself the 3% of Idaho is voluntarily guarding military recruiting centers around the state. Chris McIntire, a spokesman for the group, told KBOI 2News that he and several other members are guarding military recruiting centers throughout Idaho in response to last week's deadly shooting in Tennessee.

Sun Belt Backs Off Money Games

Sun Belt Conference commissioner Karl Benson wants the league's football programs, like Idaho, to work on shedding their "addiction" to big-money, non-conference matchups with heavily favored programs. More non-league games with "peer conferences" would improve the chances of a Sun Belt team getting a bid to a New Year's Day Bowl game.

Poll: Supreme Court Split Politically 

The majority of Americans think the Supreme Court is split politically, according to a new C-SPAN poll released Tuesday. The online poll, conducted by Penn Schoen Berland (PSB) for C-SPAN from July 1 to July 6, found that two in three Americans believe the recent decisions demonstrate that the justices are split on political grounds.
