Moore Services Set for LCHS Saturday

In this spring 2014 photo, provided to Hucklberries Online courtesy of Alicia Barrett Troye, then first-grader Quinn Troye reads a paper to Coeur d'Alene police officer Greg Moore. Moore, who was slain during a traffic stop Tuesday morning in northwest Coeur d'Alene, was on routine patrol when he stopped to listen to Quinn read her entire report. Many residents remember the 16-year veteran as an officer who loved Coeur d'Alene and its people.

  • Sgt. Moore’s funeral is slated for this Saturday May 9th at 10 a.m. at Lake City High School located at 6101 N. Ramsey Road in Coeur d’Alene.

The Coeur d’Alene Police Department appreciates all of the thoughtful donations of food, cards of sympathy, and the monetary donations that are being sent for Sgt. Moore’s children. The men and women who work here, and their families are doing their best to provide comfort to each other and persevere. Today Sergeant Moore’s body was transported to Spokane for an autopsy relevant to the criminal case. Police officers from several agencies as well as employees of Kootenai Health lined the long hallway as English funeral home carried him to the transport vehicle. Coeur d’Alene Police officers escorted Sgt. Moore to the Spokane Coroner’s Office and multiple police and fire jurisdictions joined in solidarity along the way/Sgt. Christie Wood, Coeur d'Alene Police Department. More here.
