CdA Gives Freely To Moore Family

The Coeur d'Alene community is rallying around Sgt. Greg Moore's family and showing their support financially, with tens of thousands of dollars raised and more coming in. It would seem like the entire Inland Northwest is coming together to help the Moore family in their time of need. Many of these local businesses are donating much of their proceeds in the next few days to help his family. Moore's loss remains an open wound for Coeur d'Alene. Jessica Gewecke, the manager at Davis Donuts in Coeur d'Alene, is concerned for Moore's wife and two children. "I just feel so bad for his family," she said. "I just had a little one myself and I couldn't imagine losing my own husband." All day Friday Davis Donuts will donate all of their proceeds to a charitable fund in the family's name, organized by the Kootenai County Police and Fire Memorial Foundation/Grace Ditzler, KXLY. More, with video, here.

DFO: I encountered Darrell Dlouhy at Bakery by the Lake. He told me that the fund-raiser at his new pub, Daft Badger Brewing (1710 2nd St/CdA) raised $5,700 for the Moore family last night.
