In this morning's Lewiston Tribune editorial, Opinion Editor Marty Trillhaase comments on the pickle 6 same-sex, married couples in Idaho find themselves in. They married seven months ago in good faith. And now find themselves facing the prospects of taking out a new license to marry again. Only there are problems with that, too.

Motorcycle Month Brings Out Riders

Those roars your hear outside your office or house are the motorcycles returning to North Idaho. The good weather has brought back the riders. The 14th annual Motorcycle Awareness Rally & Parade held recently is a reminder that the bikers are back on the road. Unaware vehicle drivers can be hazardous to their health.

Post Falls Soldier Gets Purple Heart 

A U.S. Army general traveled from North Carolina on Wednesday to pin the Purple Heart on the chest of a young Post Falls man still struggling with the effects of the deadliest mass shooting this nation has seen on a military base. “It’s a long time coming. It’s a step in the right direction,” said George Stratton Jr., father of George Stratton III.

Ramsey Supports Lindy Moore 

At Ramsey Elementary School in Coeur d'Alene, teachers, staff members, parents and students are working together to provide extra support for the family of Coeur d'Alene Police Sgt. Greg Moore. Moore was shot and killed May 5 after stopping to question a suspicious person he observed while on patrol.

Patriot Act USA Splits Raul, Mike 

The U.S. House has passed HR 2048, the USA Freedom Act, on a 338-88 vote, with Idaho’s members splitting – 2nd District Rep. Mike Simpson voted with the majority in favor, and 1st District Rep. Raul Labrador voted in the minority against the bill. Question: Who voted correctly here -- Labrador or Simpson?
