Ybarra: Ed System Isn’t Broken

Idaho's Superintendent of Public Instruction, Sherri Ybarra, could do with a little positivity from her constituents, she told the Daily News on Tuesday. "It's not just Idaho," she said. "Nationally there is a lot of education bashing going on."Ybarra said she has heard a good deal about the public education system being "broken" - something she does not agree with. "Do we need to breathe new life into the system? Yes," she said. But Ybarra, who took office Jan. 5, said there have also been victories - such as an increased graduation rate across the state and the positive responses she's heard concerning her bottom-up approach to policy making, which is based on the needs of individual districts rather than what the state anticipates their needs being/Shanon Quinn, Moscow-Pullman Daily News. More here.

Question: Do you agree/disagree with Superintendent Sherri Ybarra that the Idaho education system isn't broken?
