A supermajority of Hucks Nation says Kootenai County clerk Dan English, who announced his candidacy for the Coeur d'Alene City Council, would win a one-on-one race with incumbent Steve Adams (if Adams runs for re-election). Canfield Speller Acquits Himself Well

Kendall Foster, 13, a Canfield Middle School student, correctly spelled all three words presented to him at the 2015 Scripps National Spelling Bee. But he was eliminated from becoming one of the 49 finalists as a result of a multiple-choice "bubble" vocabulary test. Still, the 7th-grader called his participation in the bee "awesome."

Drive-In Theater Coming Soon? 

Signs advertising "Drive-In Theater" and "Coming Soon" have turned drivers' heads and gotten people talking on the quiet prairie, writes David Coles/CdA Press. Smylie: I Like Wayne Hoffman, But ... 13 

In the last week or so, state Rep. Luke Malek, R-Coeur d'Alene, attacked Wayne Hoffman and his Idaho Freedom Foundation in an op-ed column. Then, Hoffman attacked back, saying he likes Malek but doesn't trust him. Twice. Now, former Idaho legislator Steve Smylie weighs in on the commotion, saying he likes Hoffman but doesn't trust him.
