About Those IFF Freedoms

Clearwater1950 (RE: Is Idaho a freedom magnet): The folks I know well personally who have moved to Idaho from other Western States in the last five years amounts to four families for a total of 20 individuals. They all moved to Idaho because of the vast federal lands, low population and outdoor opportunities.....which they didn't have in the States they left. Some are highly educated professionals and others are self employed with their own businesses. I am stepping out on a limb here, but it is my impression that the "freedom" they sought is not to be free of government regulation or oppressive taxes, or anything along the lines the IFF spouts....but simply "freedom" to have solitude, a slower lifestyle and lower amounts of concrete, steel and glass in the everyday work environment. I couldn't tell you how many times one professional, who commutes to Lewiston from his family's home up behind Kendrick has said his commute is three times longer and three times shorter and 100 times more enjoyable than his former work situation. The freedoms I see the IFF spouting are business centered or money centered, however you wish to characterize them. The are freedoms that would allow businesses to pollute more, charge more, pay employees less, leave employees bereft of benefits, and work together to create a larger bottom line for the business. 'nough said.

Question: Why did you move to Idaho (if you're not a native)?
