Rusche: Legislature Panders To GOP

John Rusche (RE: Rubio to address Idaho GOP): When the Legislature does appropriations, $20,000 is a big expense that needs to be justified. Things like pre-k, school counsellors, whistleblower protection and inspector general office, replacing state patrol officers, even higher ed scholarships are better uses of this money. But those were not positions of the Idaho GOP Central Committee. Those propisals were aimed at making state government help all idahoans, not making Idaho republican bigwigs "players" in the crowded GOP presidential primary. What the Idaho GOP wants they get, whether it is closed primaries, private elections funded by the public purse, or even a special session to let the far right GOPers try to defend the indefensible and promote grave harm to Idaho Kids. Let the candidates parade through Idaho on their own dime.
