Wild Card/Monday — 10.5.15

My wife and I visited the Grille at Ipanema for a late lunch early Sunday afternoon, only to find it closed. That was no big deal. We headed home for a sandwich. But, in the process, I noticed that something was going on in the big grassy area at McEuen and the children's playground, of course, was teeming. It has been a long time since I reminded you how much McEuen Park is used now since the makeover. It would be sitting there idle without the upgrade, brought to us largely by much-criticized ignite cda. Yet some political gasbags have made hay be persuading the community that urban renewal is bad and they are good. Amazing but true. Here's your Monday wild card ...
