Silverwood to add giant water slide

The next big thing coming to Silverwood Theme Park north of Coeur d’Alene will be a giant water slide at the Boulder Beach Water Park, the park announced Wednesday. The mat-racing slide will stand 56 feet tall with six side-by-side racing lanes down 406 feet of slide. It will accommodate up to 900 guests an hour, with riders reaching speeds of 30 mph. “Riders will lie down head-first on an aerodynamic mat and push out of the starting gate down the winding tubes,” Silverwood said in a news release. “Gaining speed, they will then converge into the final stretch to determine the ultimate winner.” The name of the new attraction will be determined in a contest, as the park has done with other rides/SR.
