Letter: They’re bomb throwers

Your editorial of Oct. 23 was disturbing in the credit you give to the Freedom Caucus and other extremists in Congress. By the way, we have a disproportionate number of like-minded legislators from our area. While I likely agree with 90 percent of their agenda, I deplore their tactics. John Boehner is a solid conservative. To drive him from the speaker’s chair because he recognized the art of the possible was deplorable. An attempt to shut down the government to make a point is stupid and destructive to the party. The attempt invariably fails with resulting loss of support for the party. I want conservative government, not bomb throwers. Unfortunately our Representative Labrador is at the front of the pack/Dean Haagenson, Hayden, Coeur d'Alene Press letter to the editor.

Question: Do you agree/disagree that the US House Freedom Caucus, led by Raul Labrador, do little more than obstruct?
