Drowned tot becomes symbol 86 

The little boy on the beach had a name, and it was Aylan. Searing images of the Syrian toddler’s drowned body, washed ashore after the raft carrying his refugee family capsized off the Turkish coast, pricked consciences worldwide and galvanized passionate debate over the international response to the tide of migrants arriving on Europe’s shores.

Schindelbeck runs for CdA office 22 

Toby Schindelbeck, the relative newcomer from Chico, Calif., is running for office again -- this time for long-time incumbent Ron Edinger's council seat. Schindelbeck had been in Coeur d'Alene about a year, in 2014, when he challenged and lost a close race to Rep. Luke Malek for a House District 4 seat.
