This afternoon, about 2:30, a black bear paid a visit to Cathleen Ryan's home on King Street in Wallace. Cathleen describes her reaction in a Facebook post (which I'm re-publishing here with her permission):

Just had a bear in the yard about 10 feet away from me.
No, I didn't get a picture, I was too busy dialing 911;
Yes, I shrieked a lot;
Yes, it had the CUTEST little ears;
Yes, totally peed myself.
