County GOP: Defund PParenthood

The resolution passed by the Kootenai County Republican Central Committee at its August meeting to defund Planned Parenthood:

  • Whereas, The sale of baby body parts is illegal; and
  • Whereas, Planned Parenthood has played a prominent role in the sale of baby body parts by being the provider of these parts; and
  • Whereas, This activity has been ongoing since at least 2000; and
  • Whereas, Planned Parenthood engages in this sordid practice for profit, using various transactional schemes to camouflage this fact; and
  • Whereas, Recent audio and video interviews with Planned Parenthood operatives demonstrated that the practice continues; and
  • Whereas, Planned Parenthood garners over half a billion dollars of tax funding annually; and
  • Whereas, Money is fungible, rendering Planned Parenthood protestations over which dollar is used for which purpose moot; and
  • Whereas, Planned Parenthood performs over ten abortions for every one pre-natal care, thereby revealing where their focus is; and
  • Whereas, Numerous other legitimate women’s health care providers are available in lieu of Planned Parenthood; therefore, be it

Main Motion

Resolved, That the Governor and Legislature of the State of Idaho take immediate action to follow the lead of several other states and terminate any public funding for any purpose of Planned Parenthood or any of its affiliates.
