OfCoffee comments (RE: Argonaut: Coach doesn't walk talk):

Ridiculous. Taylor is no longer on the team (though he had the option to stay if he would have been willing to follow the disciplinary action) and Epps, among other things, had to sit out the game that he was looking forward to more than any other. And just because some editor wannabes at the Arg aren't privy to the disciplinary workings of the football team, it doesn't mean that no actions were taken. Bottom line, Petrino has brought a HUGE level of discipline back to the team that was sorely lacking. We may not like his mannerisms but he doesn't put up with any crap - from his players especially.

  • 1 - hostile to one reporter. Not the first time for a coach. Reporter lies about it (proven by camera footage). Call it even I guess.
  • 2. Covers up criminal activity? Nothing was covered up with the book store incident. Do you have some other story that you want to reveal or are you just exaggerating (lying) for effect? (don't answer -it's a rhetorical question.)
  • 3. He doesn't make the schedule, but I will correct your commentary by telling you that the players love playing big games like that. Every kid I talked to, including my nephew, thinks it's quite an experience to go play in the Coliseum and test yourself against the big guys. It may be demoralizing for the fans, but not the players.

That about covers it.
