A man wanted for more than two decades in the kidnapping, torture and rape of a woman who now lives in Hayden, Idaho, was arrested Monday in Mexico. Paul Erven Jackson, 45, had been at large since 1991. Mexican immigration authorities, working with the U.S. Marshals Service, arrested Jackson at a hotel in Guadalajara.
A Hauser woman convicted of pursuing a hunter's falcon was sentenced Monday in Kootenai County District Court to community service. Patti MacDonald, 60, was ordered by First Judicial District Magistrate Judge James Stow to complete 20 hours of community service by the end of the year and pay $500 in court fees.
