Bonner County man dead after dispute

The Bonner County Sheriff’s Office is reporting that a man is dead after a domestic battery incident late Tuesday. Deputies were called to the home in the 4800 block of Spirit Lake Cutoff Road around 11 p.m. Tuesday. A woman and her three of children fled the home during a “lethal altercation,” said Chief Deputy David Hale. Early information indicates that the man had assaulted the woman, who then shot him, Hale said. “It appears to be a self defense incident,” he said. Deputies performed CPR on the man, who was pronounced dead at the scene after medics arrived. Hale said deputies have not responded to previous domestic violence incidents at the home. Investigators are not releasing the names of anyone involved in the incident/Nina Culver, SR.
