County to start charging for Citylink

Kootenai County's free bus system will not be entirely free for much longer. The county plans to start collecting fares on some of the routes. It is looking to do that using a system which they say could be the first of its kind in the U.S. Currently, if a person wants to ride a bus, they go to a Citylink station and when the bus arrives, they just simply walk on without paying. It started in 2005, Citylink is a cooperative effort between local cities, the Coeur d'Alene Tribe and Kootenai Health. The county receives federal funds to help offset their cost, but it turns out that might not be enough/Taylor Viydo, KREM2. More here.

Question: Have you ever ridden Citylink?
