Update: 3 hurt in fall from CdA building

Three people injured after falling from a downtown Coeur d’Alene rooftop Saturday night had been sitting on the edge of the building with their feet hanging over the sidewalk below. “The decorative cap of the building they were sitting on gave way and all three of the young adults fell to the sidewalk,” a distance of about 30 feet.

Trib: Time to stop IEN suit secrecy

The state of Idaho has wasted millions and will waste millions more with the way it handled the Idaho Education Network scandal. Now, the Legislature is trying to reach a settlement behind closed doors to closed the book on the mess. Opinion Editor Marty Trillhaase of the Lewiston Tribune says it time to end the secrecy that has cost Idaho so much.

Patty Duke memorial attracts 100s

Tears and laughter filled Lake City Community Church on Saturday as family members and close friends recalled their fondest memories of Anna Marie Pearce. Hundreds of friends, fans and family members gathered in the church for the memorial service to celebrate the life of the actress, famously known as Patty Duke.

Idaho PAC under investigation

The AP has a report today on the state investigation into contributions to the “Integrity in Government PAC,” which has been ongoing since January. The PAC has been active recently running newspaper ads targeting Gov. Butch Otter and the Idaho Association of Commerce and Industry, featuring crudely drawn cartoons.

Hucks: Reporter's life isn't that bad

Again, the annual Jobs Rated report of CareerCast.com low-balls my profession. For the third year in a row, the report lists “newspaper reporter” as the worst of 200 jobs. One spot below “logger.” In my Sunday Huckleberries column, I begin by saying this finding of the annual Jobs Rated report is nonsense.
