Why NIC board is meeting tonight

Huckleberries hears that ... the North Idaho College Board of Trustees is meeting tonight to hammer out zones for November's trustee races. Trustees Ron Nilson and Todd Banducci supported 2016 Idaho legislation that created the zones. However, they don't like the fact that they are both in the same zone in a map created by a GIS specialist from the college. The map has a plus/minus percentage among the 5 districts of 1%. The legislation allows a population variance of 5%. It'll be interesting at this point if Nilson and Banducci play the incumbent card and re-work boundaries so they won't oppose each other in the November election. Banducci and Nilson, as well as Trustee Judy Meyer, are in their final year of their current term. In the past, trustees ran countywide for any seat on the board. Now, they must live within a zone to run for the seat. They still run countywide.
