Andrus enjoys GOP infighting

During an interview on Friday, I asked former Idaho Gov. Cecil Andrus – elected governor four times as a Democrat – what he thinks of the current infighting with the Idaho GOP. “Couldn’t happen to a nicer bunch of people,” Andrus responded with a grin. He added, “It’s about time. We Democrats have a history of fighting among ourselves, and I think that the conservative right-wingers or tea party, whatever you want to call them, they appear to me to have the bit in their teeth and to have the control right now. So that should bring about some moderation from the others, but I haven’t seen it happen yet. The discipline is too strong”/Betsy Russell, Eye on Boise.
