Bike Rage

On the waterfront today, walking partner Greg Lee and I received a drive-by lecture shouted out by a female on a bike who thought we were taking too much of the McEuen Park sidewalk. She started screaming as she petaled past: "Quit using so much of the sidewalk!" We were north and a little west of the Avista Pavilion. I shouted after her: "Thanks for the warning!" Miss Bike Rager needs to check her bicycle etiquette manual. Which would tell her that she needs to yell out, "on your left" or "on your right" when approaching pedestrians. Of course, one out of 10 bicyclists provide such a warning as they petal up behind unsuspecting an unsuspecting pedestrian(s). I ride a bike. And I try to be extra careful. I can see why pedestrians and motorists find some bicyclists annoying, esp. the ones who think they're racing in Ironman Coeur d'Alene and pass at 25 to 30 mph without warning.
